On 23rd of April 2026, the workshop brought together interoperability partners CODATA, Technovative Solutions Ltd (TVS) and the University of Cambridge, along with end user partner CouperJones Ltd, to advance the project’s Interoperability Framework (IF) – a core component of the TOGETHER Toolkit. Hosted by the University of Cambridge, the workshop focused on the Legal, Organisational, Technical and Semantic (LOTS) interoperability, which is essential for enabling seamless data exchange across the disaster risk management and governance ecosystem.
Building on work conducted within the EU-funded CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC project – in which all three interoperability partners participate – the workshop explored opportunities to leverage and extend existing LOTS components to accelerate the implementation of interoperability tools within TOGETHER.
Participants engaged with competency questions designed to support the creation of a dynamic ontology for Disaster Risk Management (DRM), covering hazard types including floods, quick clay landslides and wildfires. Discussions addressed the alignment of this ontology with international standards such as ISO 31000 and ISO 22320, as well as the UNDRR Sendai Terminology.
Cross-cutting themes included alignment with the European Open Science Community (EOSC) Interoperability Framework and the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF). The outcomes of the workshop will directly inform WP2 deliverables and support the integration of interoperable data into the TOGETHER Multi-Tool System (MTS) and the DRMG Framework.
