The TOGETHER Project participated in the 2026 Projects to Policy Seminar, held on 10–11 June 2026 in Brussels. Organised by the European Commission, the annual event brings together Horizon Europe projects, policymakers, European institutions, practitioners, and operational stakeholders to strengthen the connection between research outcomes and policy development.
The seminar gathered representatives from the European Commission, including officials from DG HOME and DG ECHO, and the European Research Executive Agency (REA), alongside EU agencies, experts, and numerous projects working across security, disaster resilience, critical infrastructure protection, border management, and civil protection.

As one of the selected projects within the Disaster Resilient Societies thematic area, TOGETHER was invited to contribute to the discussions on how European research and innovation can support more effective disaster risk management and governance. The project was represented by its Coordinator, Abdelghani Meslem (NORSAR), who presented TOGETHER’s objectives, ongoing activities, and progress in developing innovative approaches to improve coordination, interoperability, stakeholder engagement, and multi-level governance in disaster risk management. The European Emergency Number Association EENA was also attending the seminar alongside the project coordinator.
The event provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences with other Horizon Europe projects, discussing common challenges, and identifying opportunities to maximise the impact and uptake of research results. Discussions focused on topics such as policy relevance, communication, exploitation of project outcomes, innovation uptake, and the long-term sustainability of project results.
TOGETHER also contributed to the thematic discussions within the Disaster Resilient Societies community, sharing insights from its Living Labs, stakeholder engagement activities, and the development of the TOGETHER Toolkit. These exchanges support the project’s ambition to bridge the gap between research, policy, and operational practice, ensuring that innovative solutions contribute to more resilient communities across Europe.
Participation in the Projects to Policy Seminar represents an important opportunity for TOGETHER to engage directly with policymakers, European institutions, and fellow projects, while reinforcing the project’s commitment to delivering practical, sustainable, and policy-relevant solutions for disaster risk governance.
