From Stakeholder Voices to Policy: Connecting Practice and Decision-Making

Disaster risk policy is strongest when it is shaped by the people who must apply it. Within TOGETHER, stakeholder engagement is therefore not treated as a final dissemination step, but as part of how project knowledge is tested, challenged and translated into action.

This autumn, TOGETHER will continue that process through engagement with the European civil protection community, including at the 9th European Civil Protection Forum on 3-4 November in Brussels. Under the theme “Preparing today, ready for tomorrow”, the Forum provides an important opportunity to hear from civil protection authorities, practitioners, researchers, civil society and other stakeholders about the coordination challenges they encounter across sectors and levels of governance.

These perspectives will complement learning from TOGETHER’s Disaster Risk Management Innovation Hubs and replication sites. They will also contribute to the project’s policy-facing work, including a policy brief that will translate evidence and stakeholder experience into clear, practical recommendations for decision-makers.

Engagement will continue beyond individual events through the Disaster Risk Stakeholder Hub and CMINE, creating further opportunities for dialogue, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

By connecting local experience, European networks and policy discussion, TOGETHER is working to ensure that its results respond to real needs and support more coherent, inclusive and effective disaster risk governance across Europe.
